Chaitra Navratri 2017 Schedule: Importance and Puja Muhurat timings

The traditional Hindu festival of Chaitra Navratri is a nine-day festival which commences on March 28 and will culminate with Ram Navami on April 5.  Also known as Vasant Navami, it is the celebration of victory of good over the evil.  Devotees will worship Goddess Durga and her nine forms throughout this nine days. These nine days will be marked by fasting and abstinence. 

 The festival is celebrated to mark the victory of Prince Sudarsana who won the battle with the divine blessings of Goddess Shakti.

 Navratri is celebrated twice in a year. The festival kicks off  with Ghatasthapana .

3rd April- Maa Kalaratri Puja

4th April- Maa Mahagauri Puja

5th April- Maa Siddhidatri Puja
