A career spanning fifty years and films done in Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu language, Sridevi has always been India's most loved actress. This versatile actress has proved that her heavy southern accent didn't matter when she could make the audience laugh with her impeccable comic timing or make everyone fall in love with her time and again in Bollywood too. She turns 54 on Sunday and now makes us wait for years for every new release.

Aged gracefully, Sridevi now prefers roles apt for her like in English Vinglish or Mom recently. She even said now she doesn't want to shake a leg on the big screen again. She says, “I don’t want to do a dance film. I know it’s an exceptional space now and they are working as well. But I don’t think I will try it anymore. Dance karne ke liye bachche hain na (laughs). Why should I get up and start dancing? Woh toh kar liya, dance ho gaya! People appreciated but now, I have moved on from that.”

Sridevi may have moved on to try on different kind of roles and even gear up for daughter Janvi's big screen debut, but here are 5 stunning songs from the dancing diva's career which is a must watch.

Chandni (1989): Mere Haathon Mein

With this film, Sridevi proved to be the eternal Yash Raj heroine and earned the tag of 'Chandni.' This song is her introduction song in the film and still remains a must in every wedding celebration. We all have danced to it at a ladies sangeet ceremony and fallen in love with Sridevi's big dreamy eyes, her slender figure and her awesome dance moves.

Lamhe (1991): Morni Baagan Ma

A cult love story, Lamhe was way ahead of its time. It didn't work at the box office but becomes a must watch love story on TV each time. Set in Rajasthan, Anil Kapoor played Kunwar Viren who was madly in love with Pallavi, played by Sridevi. In this song, Pallavi is seen showcasing the culture and traditions of Rajasthani desert to a London based Kuwar sa. Beautiful song from a lovely story.

Himmatwala (1983): Nainon Mein Sapna

Sridevi-Jeetendra jodi was a hit in the 80s, the two featured in almost every remake of southern films back then and gave us a superhit song in Himmatwala. A dream sequence from the film, the song has its own flavour. Sridevi, dressed like a mythological character, is being wooed by Jeetendra. This 'matka' song was recreated by Tamannah and Ajay Devgn in 2013, but old is gold again!

Chaalbaaz (1989): Na Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai

Sridevi has many hit songs to her credit where she has got drenched in rain a lot. The actress hated shooting for it and even confessed that she often used to fall ill after doing rain songs. But fans loved it. In midst of a story of twin sisters, Anju and Manju, and lots of confusion around it, Chaalbaaz had a rain song featuring Sunny Deol and Sridevi. Lots of energy and her vivacious smile created magic on screen and 'Na jaane kahan se aayi' remains one of her most memorable hits.

Mr India (1987): Hawa Hawai

Sridevi has a natural flair for comedy and the song 'Hawa Hawai' from Mr India epitomises it. Not just quirky lyrics, 'Hawa Hawai' also boasts of her funny dance moves and interesting costume in an attempt to be an undercover journalist in that sequence in the film.
