A few weeks back, heads turns as The Jungle Book outperformed Shah Rukh Khan's Fan. This week, everyone was surprised that Jennifer Lawrence's X-Men: Apocalypse beat Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Sarbjit over the weekend. And it seems this trend of Hollywood films doing better than Bollywood films is all set to continue! Why do we say so? Well, the first reports coming from the theatres suggest that this week's Hollywood release - The Angry Birds Movie is all set to outperform the Bollywood films releasing today - Ram Gopal Varma's Veerappan, Radhika Apte's Phobia and Kalki Koechlin's Waiting. The occupancy of the Hollywood film has been better than the Bollywood ones and we aren't surprised. We reviewed all four films and it was neck and neck between Phobia and The Angry Birds Movie. However, Angry Birds' game franchise is so popular, that the film was set to do well at the box office and we now have proof that it is in fact doing better than the other Bollywood releases. As trade analyst Taran Adarsh revealed in his tweets, "Hollywood's THE ANGRY BIRDS MOVIE opens to better houses than Bollywood's films this week." He even joked about the Hindi films released this week, as he tweeted, "All the four Hindi releases of today open to poor houses. Cinemas seen WAITING for audience. Have people developed a PHOBIA for movies?"
