While Abhishek Bachchan might be busy with his sporting ventures of late, there are a large number of fans out there who want to see Jr. Bachchan back on screen. He is one helluva consummate actor and films like Guru, Yuva, Ravaan and Sarkar have proved it time and again. Abhishek is good at comedy but the actor really shines through in good author-backed roles. Today, one of his milestone films, Guru completed 10 years and the actor put out a heartfelt post on Facebook thanking the cast and crew of the masterpiece. We know that it was the film that cemented the relationship of Abhishek and Aishwarya. The actor thanked his wife in the most beautiful and touching manner.

Mani Ratnam's Guru was unanimously lauded by the critics. People loved how masterfully the era of the 1950s was created and Abhishek's stunning performance as Gurukant Desai. People called the film a tribute to the ambitious Indian and capitalism that set into the country post independence. In fact, The Sunday Times had compared Abhishek's acting chops to Robert De Niro's post the release. All in all, it is classic that can be watched anytime. No wonder the actor treasures the film so close to his heart. What is lovely about the post is the sincerity with which he has documented the making of the film. It just shows how absorbed he was in the film.

The best words are reserved for Aishwarya, whom he has called as a great performer. The actor writes about how she tolerated his eccentricities and inspired him every day. We are sure this heartfelt note will touch Aishwarya's heart like nothing else. As per rumours, the first sparks of love had ignited in their hearts while shooting for Kajra Re in Bunty Aur Babli (2005). The two had done films before and were good friends. However, Guru is the most special one as he proposed to her after the premiere of the film in Toronto in 2007. The actor had said in an interview, "I was filming in New York for a movie. And, I used to stand on the balcony of my hotel room and wish that, 'One day, wouldn't it be nice if I was together with her, married. Years later, we were there for the premiere of Guru. After the premiere, we were back in the hotel. So, I took her to the very same balcony, and I asked her to marry me.” A formal engagement post place in January 2007 at the Bachchan residence.
