Actors Chiranjeevi Sarja and Amulya will share screen space for the first time in the upcoming film Ramleela, a remake of the Telugu film Loukyam. While remakes often adopt dialogues, scenes and songs from the original, this one only borrows the basic storyline. “I watched the original and liked it. A lot of changes are being made for the
Kannada version, in terms of the dialogues and presentation of certain scenes.
Also, despite being in the same film industry, Chiranjeevi and I have never met. So, I’m looking forward to working with him,” says Amulya, who will start shooting for the film in the first week of April.
Speaking about her character, Amulya says, “In the first half of the film, I play a bold college student who teases and rags the girls and boys in her college. In the second half, though, the film turns into a complete family entertainer with a lot of situational comedy.”
Ramleela, which will be directed by Vijaykiran, will be shot entirely in Bengaluru, except for a few songs that will be shot abroad. The big budget entertainer is likely to feature 25-30 popular artists, including
Rangaynana Raghu,
Sadhu Kokila and Chikkanna among others.
