Ajay, Salman, SRK, Kajol, Sonam are all back to their comfort zones

An otherwise reticent Tabu, is easily seen in her most uninhibited avatars during the promotions of Drishyam.
The vibrancy in her mood can be attributed to the comfort level she shares with her co-star Ajay Devgn. Tabu and Ajay go way back. VD, as the actress affectionately calls him, is a friend of hers since their college days. Tabu's cousin Sameer Arya is one of Ajay's closest pals.The two tasted their first bite of success together with the 1994 film Vijaypath which starrer them together. As they pair up again 18 years later, Tabu feels 'VD is just the same, just that he has now become a brand' and for Ajay she is 'still that girl in his college group, he is extremely protective about.' Thoiugh Ajay has always subscribed to the idea that 'when a film works, the chemistry works', this time with tabu around, the vibe is starkly unusual.

Meanwhile, Ajay's wife Kajol too makes a comeback this Christmas with Rohit Shetty's Dilwale. And this isn't an ordinary comeback because the actress is collaborating with Shah Rukh Khan to revive their much-loved, scintillating onscreen chemistry. The duo return to romance each other in their trademark style, using Bulgaria's picturesque locales as the backdrop! They were last seen together on screen in Karan Johar's 2010 film My Name Is Khan. It was established all over again that SRK's everlasting charm and Kajol's unfazed innocence still works when people swarmed to catch a glimpse of duo at the iconic theatre Maratha mandir where the film has been running for more than 1000 weeks now.
SRK will also be re-associating with Farhan Akhtar for his 2016 Eid flick, five years Farhan directed and co-produced Don 2. Though, the earlier plan was that SRK and Farhan will share screen space in this film (the role that eventually went to Nawazuddin Siddiqui) but Farhan preferred slipping into the role of a hands-on producer.
Moving on to another Khan, Salman who finally seems to be denouncing his staple roles is juggling between projects very unlike him. Reprising his character of the lover-boy Prem in Sooraj Barjatya's Diwali release Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, a mustachioed Salman will be romancing his lead lady Sonam Kapoor a la Barjatya style! Sooraj and Salman had last worked together in the 1999 film hum Saath Saath Hai. 16 years later, they still share that friendship, banter on sets with the same zest and get nostalgic about old times. Salman had earlier said playing Prem after so many years is a challenge as he is hardly the pure person he used to be. But working with Sooraj was reason enough for the superstar to push himself to deliver something unusual with the Diwali flick.

It's rather quite a surprise that Sonam was cast opposite Khan in this film. Their blink-and-miss chemistry in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya in 2007 needed better scope and what better than a Barjatya film.
Another old friend whom Salman will be re-collaborating with is Nikhil Advani. It was 2007 when Sallu and Nick had last worked together in the latter's magnum opus ensemble omnibus that fizzed away from public memory sooner than it should've. This time around, Advani is directing a film that Khan will be producer under his banner. Hero, a remake of Showman Subash Ghai's superhit movie, is Salman's passion project in which he will launch two debutants - Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty. Nick concedes Salman is hard to please. " He wants everything grand but is at the same time a hands on producer who doesn't shirk away from spending more if the scene calls for it." Naturally, Sultan does things his own royal way!
