MANGALURU: Akhila Karnataka B S Yeddyurappa Abhimanigala Sangha (Yeddyurappa Fans Association) members said that their organization vows to strengthen former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa and it has no direct link to BJP.
Sangha state general secretary Shivaraj Arsikere told reporters on Thursday that the Fans Association has been formed to counter the maligning campaigns being made against Yeddyurappa.
“We are united to give fitting reply to maligning campaigns against Yeddyurappa. However, we will not react directly to any statements made by leaders who belong to Yeddyurappa’s party. Ours is purely an apolitical organization which believes in the strengths of Yeddyurappa. Many BJP workers have come forward to identify with us only because of pride towards Yeddyurappa. However, our organization and BJP have no direct connections. We will not question their affiliation, responsibilities and functioning in the party,” Shivaraj said.
The association, which has district units in 17 districts, will soon open its branches in all the districts, taluks and hoblis in the state, he said.
A separate social media wing of the fans association has been opened to make Yeddyurappa more popular through Facebook, Whatsapp, Twitter and Youtube, he added.
