SHIVAMOGGA: The BJP core committee meeting on Tuesday failed to resolve the dispute between state president BS Yeddyurappa and opposition leader in the legislative council and former home minister KS Eshwarappa. Both presented contrarian versions on the establishment and functioning of the Sangaolli Rayanna Brigade in Shivamogga on Wednesday.
"It was decided at the core committee meeting that nobody should hold a convention that does not have the party's approval.
This applies to me and Eshwarappa," Yeddyurappa said.
Clarifying that there was no tension within the party, he added, "Everyone has agreed that all forums must be held within the party's framework."
"There is no relation between the BJP and the brigade. As a member of a backward class community, I have the right to participate in any convention . We are going ahead with the formation (of brigade), Eshwarappa said. tnn
