Last month, the world witnessed Rajini hysteria when Thalaivar's Kabali hit the screens on July 22.

With Kabali 2 on cards, the latest buzz that is doing rounds on social media is that superstar Rajinikanth and director Pa Ranjith are collaborating once again for a film. Interestingly, Rajinikanth's son-in-law and actor Dhanush's home production Wunderbar Films, is bankrolling this project.

Sharing this exciting news on Twitter, Dhanush wrote, "I''m so proud and honoured to announce our production's next film."



After this pleasant surprise, the ardent fans of Rajinikanth have already started trending various hashtags on Twitter.

Despite mixed reviews, Kabali shattered the box office records, ranking in more than Rs 600 crore worldwide. Now, Kabali is touted to be the fourth highest grossing Indian film worldwide.

However, it isn't clear if the project is a sequel of Kabali or a different film altogether.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth has resumed shoot of his upcoming mega-budgeted project 2.0, the sequel to the blockbuster Tamil film Enthiran.

Starring Akshay Kumar, Amy Jackson and Sudhanshu Pandey in lead roles, the first look poster of the film will be unveiled in November. Directed by Shankar, the film is slated to release next year.
