The Congress on Tuesday continued its attack on the Centre and pressed Prime Minister Narendra Modi to sack Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, levelling fresh charges of corruption against the BJP leader.

A day after alleging that Raje and Lalit Modi illegally grabbed government owned Dholpur Palace and converted it into a highend hotel, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh released documents showing that the chief minister's son Dushyant Singh had received Rs 2 crore as compensation for a portion of the property acquired by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

"Dushyant Singh took compensation of Rs 1,97,21,720 for 11 biswas (35 hectare approximately) of government land in league with Land Acquisition Officer. A complaint dated 10.04.2013 had been filed with director, CBI, Delhi by Babu Lal and Srijan Suresh," said Ramesh. The Congress leader further said a legal compromise reached between Dushyant and his father Hemant Singh on May 17, 2007, states that the pact is only related to movables lying in City Palace, Dholpur, and did not transfer the ownership of immovable property.

Noting there was enough evidence at hand to prove the culpability of Raje and the top BJP leadership in the ongoing controversy, Ramesh said the PM needed to act fast.

"The PM must act and break his silence in the matter. Layers of falsehood, repeated attempts at hoodwinking and laboured efforts to dupe the people of India by the Modi government are opening up the gates of collusive culpability of entire BJP leadership in 'Modigate scandal'," he said.
