A semifinal finish at the recent US Open Grand Prix Gold enabled Indian shuttler Ajay Jayaram to rise two places to be back into top 20 in the latest badminton world rankings issued today.

Jayaram was placed at 20th spot with 43673 points, while B Sai Praneeth, who improved his ranking after his maiden Canada Open win, slipped two places to 35th due to his early exit from the last week’s US Open. Among other men’s singles shuttlers, Srikanth Kidambi, Sameer Verma and H S Prannoy remained unchanged at 11th, 38th and 29th positions respectively.

Anand Pawar, who lost to Jayaram in the US Open quarterfinals, was the biggest gainer with a jump of 16 positions to world number 77.
