KHAR: Security forces repulsed a militant attack carried out from across the Afghan border on a checkpost in Bajaur Agency late on Tuesday night.

Local administration officials told journalists that the militants from Afghanistan’s Kunar province had attacked the Nawa Pass security post in tehsil Chamarkand, about 40km from the agency headquarters of Khar.

Security personnel backed by volunteers of the village defence committee returned fire and forced the militants to flee.

No causality was reported from either side.

According to the officials, this was the second cross-border attack in Bajaur in two days.
