Kent-based Bovis Homes Group has appointed Christine Browne, chief operating officer of aviation at TUI Travel, as a non-executive director.
Browne, who will join the company from 1 September 2014, will also be a member of the nomination committee, the remuneration committee and the audit committee.
At TUI Travel, Browne is responsible for running a best in class operation with common standards across all operational areas of TUI's five airlines.
She has more than 25 years' experience in the travel sector.
Ian Tyler, non-executive chairman, who led the recruitment process, said: "I am very pleased to welcome Chris to the board of Bovis Homes. Chris' strong commercial and general management background in a consumer facing industry will be of great value and I look forward to her contribution."
Bovis Homes, which released its half year results earlier this month, increased revenue by 75 per cent and more than doubled its pre-tax profit.
Turnover soared by 75 per cent to £322.1m for the six months ended 30 June 2014, up from £184.4m during the first half of the year before.
Pre-tax profit rose to £49.4m for the period, a substantial improvement from £18.6m the year before.
The group said the positive results were driven by increased volumes and a record number of legal completions.
